Based on a track record of real-world achievement, RTTP is the International Standard for the Professional Competence and Experience of KT/KE/TT practitioners working in universities, industry, and government labs.
To be eligible for RTTP status, you must demonstrate that you have the core competencies required to work effectively in the profession and that you have a proven track record.
What is RTTP?
The Re-industrialization and Technology Training Program (RTTP) is an Innovation and Technology Fund funding program that provides local businesses with a 2:1 matching subsidy to support staff training in cutting-edge technologies.
What skills/experience do you need to achieve RTTP?
1.KE/TT Experience
You must show that you have held a relevant position for at least three years.
To be eligible for the full RTTP designation, you must submit a CV demonstrating that you have worked in the KE/TT profession or a role requiring similar skills for at least three years in a country represented by an Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals member (ATTP).
2.KE/TT KEY SKILLS
You must demonstrate that you have acquired the necessary skills to be effective and independent.
As an example, consider the following:
60 RTTP CE points earned in accredited KE/TT training programs or meeting the development needs to be outlined in the Candidate’s Career Aspiration Plan.
3.KE/TT ACHIEVEMENT
You must demonstrate that you have used your knowledge and skills to drive and complete KE/TT projects independently.
This is accomplished through a 1000-word Achievement Overview approved by your manager and your partner/customer and submitted for peer review. One or more of the following can be described in the Achievement Overview:
- A complex and significant collaboration/ strategic partnership that would not have occurred without your input and achieved the parties’ intended goals.
- A complex and significant commercial transaction that would not have occurred without your involvement (e.g., licensing; significant consultancy/contract research arrangement(s); the formation of a spin-out company that you actively led through its pre-investment phase and that later raised external funding, made an impact in its market, or generated value for its shareholders).
- A significant knowledge transfer initiative that would not have occurred without your participation, resulting in new capacity, structures, funding, incentives, or other developments that enabled demonstrable knowledge transfer/knowledge exchange outcomes.

The majority of us have a preferred method of learning. Learn about your preferred learning style and study the best way for you.
It is important to note that these styles are simply ways of thinking about different studying techniques. Try them all and see which ones you prefer.
- Tactile/kinesthetic learners learn best by doing- To revise critical points, use techniques such as role-playing or building models.
- Auditory learners prefer listening- Try reading your notes aloud and talking about them with others. You could record critical points and play them back.
- Visual learners prefer to learn through observation- To help represent key points, try using colours in your notes and drawing diagrams. Try to remember some ideas by visualizing them.
2. Stay motivated
When studying, it’s helpful to remember why you’re doing all of this hard work, such as a course or career you’re pursuing. Having something in your study area can be beneficial to remind you of your objectives.
3. Take breaks
Taking breaks while studying is critical, especially if you’re tired or frustrated. Working on a task for an extended period can reduce your performance.
Move away from your desk or study area whenever you need a break. Even a short walk around the estate can sometimes help you see a problem in a new way and even contribute to its resolution.
4. Pick a place and time
Everyone has a different idea about the best time and place to study. Find and stick to a study space and a regular time that works for you, whether it’s your bedroom at night or the library after school.
5. Find your best time
Some individuals work more effectively in the morning. Some people work better at night. Determine the best time for you to study and stick to it. Don’t study much later than your usual bedtime; staying up late can leave you too tired to study correctly.
6. Set up your study space
Your study area should be quiet, comfortable, and free of distractions. It should make you happy and inspire you. Decorate it with your favourite photos or items. Choose a location that allows you to listen to music or burn incense.
If your body is in good shape, your mind will be in better condition to focus and absorb new information. You don’t have to devote yourself to athletic excellence, but going for a brisk walk now and then will allow you to return to your studies feeling refreshed.
